space Un is a Tokyo-based art and cultural platform focused on contemporary African art and cultural exchange between Japan, Africa, and the African diaspora, founded by collector Edna Dumas out of her passion for African contemporary art and support for its artists.

On this project, artworks, artists’ ideas, and the collective energy of those who gather at space Un are defined as “Primitives” — essential and fundamental presences. Rather than treating them as fleeting events, the website frames them as part of an ongoing process of recording and archiving culture, preserving these moments and carrying them forward into the future.
